Enriching the Lives of Romanian Orphans

About Hearts Across Romania

Join Us in a Unique Adventure

Our Mission: To provide material, medical, educational and emotional support to Romania's orphans.

Hearts Across Romania is operated by an all-volunteer staff. One hundred percent of the donations we receive go toward helping Romania's orphans.

Hearts Across Romania was founded in 2003 by Mariana Achiriloaie, Geanie Burns, and Susan Flanagan - three friends brought together by their desire to help orphaned Romanian children.

Our Accomplishments

We have achieved so much to help Romania's children:

  • $195,000 in medical supplies distributed to five Romanian hospitals
  • Over 1,000 pairs of eyeglasses provided to orphans
  • One new Zeiss microscope bought at $17,000 for eye surgery at the Children's Hospital
  • Eye operations performed on over 120 orphans using equipment provided by us
  • Purchased eye glasses and other equipment at a cost of over $8,000.
  • Over 1,525 pairs of shoes distributed at Romania's orphanages
  • Over $9,000 worth of new English books given to Brasov schools
  • Donations of fruit, toys, hygiene products, cleaning supplies and over the counter medicine given to Romanian orphanages.

But there is much more to do. Won't you help us by volunteering or by making a tax-deductible donation?

Hearts Across Romania is registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
